Wedding today!

My mom and Carl are getting married today (finally) ! We're having the wedding at the house-with mostly just family-about 70 guests. It should be a fun time!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

It's October-so why not combine two great things-pumpkins and chocolate-for a delicious cookie? I saw this recipe the other day and decided I must bake these this season. :-)

Missouri Market

This was quite the lovely Fall weekend! Friday was another dinner out with my mom and Carl (will be my stepdad next week!). Saturday after work I went to the Best of Missouri Market at Missouri Botanical Gardens, which very nice. There was good food, cool work from local artisans, plants (lots of mums and asters), and gourds. It was a little chilly, but this weather is my fave as long as I have a jacket or fleece. It was such a wonderful atmosphere, having the market right by the gardens. I would love to go again next year-and hopefully will have more time to explore all of the gardens. We were on a bit of a time crunch.
On the agenda for next week: my mom's wedding and my grandma's surprise 80th birthday party! Only bad thing-both are the same day at the same time. Hoping to stop by my grandma's party a little later.

Northern Exposure

One of my all time favorite TV shows is Northern Exposure. I remember watching it as a young child with my dad, and thinking it was so cool back then (early 90s). And I was so happy when it came out on DVD. Just when you think your favorite TV shows are gone forever, out comes this great TV on DVD thing, which has made me very happy. I have bought seasons 1-3, and will probably buy season 4 eventually. The characters in this show are great and the storylines really pull you in, without being scandalous, which is the trend on TV nowadays. I recommend this show to anyone who hasn't seen it-it really is something special and you can't help but fall in love with the characters!

Here is a little clip from one of the episodes:
