Kati's Bridal Shower

Kati's bridal shower was this weekend, and it turned out great! I am Kati's maid of honor and helped get the shower together with party favors and organizing games. All of the hard work was completed by Kati's family. What really made the shower unique and quite pretty was the venue. We held the shower at The Blum House in Collinsville, IL. This house was built in 1900 and was donated to the Mississippi Valley Public Library District in 1997. Since then, the house has been used for rental to individuals and businesses for meetings and social gatherings.

Talent He Had

Regina Spektor

Rediscovering Regina Spektor. I listened to her music quite a bit back in 2007, and it's been nice listening to some of her music again. I got to see her live at Bonnaroo 2007, and here is "Samson" from that show. Love.

Party Decorations

Trying to get a few ideas for party decorations since Kati's bachelorette party is in early August and I'm hosting (at least for a portion of the party). I really like the paper lanterns, which I've seen before. I saw a tissue paper pom kit from Martha Stewart at Micheals the other day and thought that those were pretty fun as well. I'd prefer to do bright and cheery colors since I know that's what Kati likes. Hopefully I can find some decorations that will be on the cheap side since I'm on a budget.

Went to the zoo last week and took a few pictures. The giraffes were so adorable and I loved these pictures. :-)

If I had $840 lying around, this shoulder bag by Tila March would be pretty sweet. Love the messenger-style and that perfect chocolate brown color. :-)

Two Lovers

Wanting to see the movie, Two Lovers, starring Joaquin Phoenix, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Vinessa Shaw. Came out earlier this year so I'll have to hunt it down.

Ballet/Chanel

Karl Lagerfeld designed this tutu as well as other costumes for The English National Ballet principal dancers. This is Elena Glurdjize performing for Karl Lagerfeld in the Chanel Couture Salon. So pretty. :-)
