I stumbled across an old US Cellular commercial the other day. Aren't there commercials the best!? I kinda want to know who the creative minds are behind those ads. Anyway, it was the shadow puppet one, and I love it! How can you not love shadow puppets?
It reminds me of when I went and saw Feist a year and a half ago, and she had this person behind the scenes putting on a cool shadow show. See one of her songs from that tour here.

Thanksgiving Weekend
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I enjoyed a short week at work, then a long 4 day weekend. I had two Thanksgiving dinners and got to see a lot of family. Many laughs and smiles all around. I appreciate my family so much. :-) We have our Christmas trees up with lights on and today we will be decorating them. Love hanging up ornaments and getting the house all festive for the holidays! In addition to getting ready for the holidays I've been able to watch a few movies. Definitely contemplating signing up for a Netflix membership. :-) In the week ahead I have some birthday gift shopping to do and Christmas shopping to do. I'm also looking up info on MacBook Pros-I'm buying a new laptop for myself for Christmas!

Love Story
Just watched Love Story tonight. It's becoming a Friday night routine- snuggling up with the puppies and watching a movie. I'd watch a movie with my mom and stepdad, but they can never stay awake through a whole movie! Anyways, Love Story was very romantic and sad. My mom had warned me that it was a sad movie, so I was prepared. One of the things I loved about the movie was the style of Ali Macgraw's character, Jennifer. Prettiest coats, tights, and dresses. I loved the colors of all her clothes-especially the khaki color with red. The red and navy blue, white and navy blue, sounds patriotic, but it looked terrific onscreen. New fashion inspiration.

Elf
Had to run to Target today for some printer paper, and of course I always get a little sidetracked. :-p. I ended up looking through the holiday movie sections and saw Elf for $9. I guess kind of a typical price, but I couldn't pass it up. I needed another movie to add to my holiday collection. Looking forward to watching it soon and I'm planning on a Christmas movie marathon a weekend closer to Christmas. :-)

City Lights
Watching the movie, "Lost in Translation," the other night, I found myself loving all the shots of Tokyo at night. And really I've always been drawn to the beauty of cities at night. Living close to St. Louis, Missouri, I've driven past downtown many times and I always love taking in the view. I love that I live far enough away from the city to have excellent star gazing, but it's nice to have a little bit of both "worlds." Hopefully soon I will make a trip to Chicago and enjoy the views! Or better yet-New York!

Sunday Reflection
It was a happy weekend! Lots of free time, cuddle/play time with the pups, reading, movies, and good food. This week was a kinda stressful week at work, so I was so ready for a couple days off. I had a nice dinner at a local bistro with live music on Friday. :-) Saturday we had some classic 70s music playing and cleaned/organized the house. Even the most mundane tasks are fun with good music. Saturday night I watched "Lost in Translation." Love. And today was work and a great home cooked dinner. First time every having a spinach souffle and it was delish! And now I'm ready to face the next week with a positive outlook. Looking forward to: movies with friends, Thanksgiving with family, and decorating the house for Christmas!

Lost in Translation
Went shopping with my mom tonight at TJ Maxx and found quite a few good finds (no clothes though). One thing I did pick up was the DVD "Lost in Translation." I really enjoyed this film the first time I saw it, which has been several years ago now. Thought it would be one worth buying and adding to my collection. Looking forward to watching it this weekend!

The Romantics
Spotted this photo today over at People.com and I loved the clothes on both Elijah and Katie. It's a shot from the filming of "The Romantics," which is a movie coming out next year. Not much info on it yet (still filming), but according to imdb, "Seven close friends reunite for the wedding of two of their friends. Problems arise because the bride and the maid of honor have had a long rivalry over the groom. Anna Paquin, Elijah Wood, Katie Holmes, and Adam Brody are some of the actors in the film.

Pecan pie
My all time favorite pie is pecan pie. Though I do love many kinds of pies I must say. So you could definitely say I'm excited for Thanksgiving. This past weekend we decided to jump into the holiday season early and my mom baked a delicious pecan pie. It's already over halfway gone and everytime I walk into the kitchen I want to eat a little bit more. So delicious!

Family Weekend
This weekend I enjoyed nice weather, lots of time with family, good food, and time with the pups. It's actually felt like a long weekend too, probably because we've been taking it slow. I woke up this morning convinced it was Monday.
The weekend included:
-dinner with my dad and stepmom on Friday
-hanging out with my mom and stepdad Saturday, and out to dinner on Saturday for pasta
-a movie last night with my mom and stepdad
-and today there is tutoring, cooking stuffed spinach shells, and probably another movie
I love slow weekends like this. :-)

Heartoflight
Etsy Love: heartoflight
Love this little shop! Super cute rosebud pins for the hair, sweet headbands, and corsages. I wear quite a few cardigans and some sweet roses would brighten them up. I've also become quite the headband-wearer since I started working-it's so easy to do a headband and low ponytail or just a headband with teaching. Now I'm feeling inspired to do more slightly messy buns.

TV couples
Since I'm a self-proclaimed TV addict, I tend to get a bit emotionally invested in the TV characters. Will they finally get together? Will they stay together? Oh, no, are they breaking up? Just a few of the questions that plague me, haha. I was thinking of some of my favorite TV couples and the list could go on and on. Some of my faves, from shows that are no longer on the air are Summer and Seth from the OC (gosh I was addicted to that show) and Ross and Rachel from Friends. My favorite TV couple currently (and from the last several years) is Jim and Pam from The Office. Love them. Any other favorite TV couples out there?

Gossip Girl Fashion
This week's episode was especially kickin' on the fashion front. I have been very impressed with the fashion this season-especially the dresses.
Blair's red dress was my favorite, but Serena's one shoulder dress and little black coat are amazing as well. :-)
